15 Years of Service

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - It's been 15 years since the Multicultural Coalition was established in Grand Island in hopes to bridge the gap between the city and newly established citizens.

Audrey Lutz, executive director of the agency tells NTV News about the journey the coalition has been through to get where it is now.

"Fifteen years ago, our agency was just a dream, in the eyes of Grand Island leadership,” says Lutz. “At the time when Ken Gnadt was mayor, Dr. Steve Joel was superintendent of Grand Island Public Schools, and with other community leaders they had this idea about a place that could help new comers become integrated into the community and help long term Grand Islander's understand that change in demographics."
