Help us tell the story of the INTERSECTION OF EVERYWHERE, a city that has always been the historic crossroads of human migration in Central Nebraska!

This AmeriCorps VISTA program is accepting applications until April 30, 2018. To apply, visit my.americorps.gov and search by AmeriCorps VISTA, Nebraska and Multicultural Coalition.

Americorps-VISTA-logoIn order to help Multicultural Coalition meet the demands of the increasingly diverse population, the AmeriCorps VISTA member will draft fund-development and marketing strategies, create core branding and develop plans to better advertise the agency to donors and funders. Applicants should consider this a highly rewarding opportunity to change community conditions for the immigrant and refugee communities in Grand Island because of the capacity built by VISTA member duties. If more newcomers had access to Multicultural Coalition’s programs and services, we believe their likelihood of success in accessing education, jobs and needed community services would be greatly increased. VISTA members will learn about an incredible organization and community, and play a pivotal role in the growth and continued success of the organization. Applicants applying to be a VISTA member must be committed to achieving successful outcomes for people in the service area.

The VISTA member will serve alongside a fund-development consultant to develop strategies for increasing the donor and funder audience of Multicultural Coalition. The VISTA member will develop plans and lead focus groups to equip Multicultural Coalition with the tools to tell the organization’s story to the community. Applicants should have excellent communication skills. The VISTA member should be able to think critically, organize thoughts logically, take initiative, set ambitious goals for their service days, work independently, approach challenges with creativity and be open to exploring new ideas and strategies. Previous experience preferred in design, marketing, focus group research or communications. Applicants should have an interest in working with different cultural groups.
